Today, at Badger Boys State, the energy was running high as the citizens elected a new governor. Seen here is Roland Liebenow, who is originally from Lake Mills, attended the first session of Badger Boys State and paid the camp a visit. Liebnow shared his certificate of attendance with the office, which archived it for its records. He's seen here with Bob Kaczmarek, assistant director of programming.
As the citizens prepared to cast their votes for the state-level positions, the two parties were busy campaigning for Benjamin Giles and Matthew Walker, the two candidates for governor. Seen here are supporters of Matthew Walker, who ended up becoming the governor of the 2011 session of Bager Boys State.
The citizens congregated to pose for a group picture outlined in the shape of Wisconsin. The picture was supposed to be photographed yesterday, but due to the weather, it was moved to today. Seen here are the two citizens who stood in the middle of the front row, and therefore received the job of holding the 2011 sign.
Governor Scott Walker arrived today to speak at the inaugural ceremony. This is the first time in many years that the governor himself has arrived to speak instead of the lieutenant governor. Governor Walker is greeted by his son, Matthew, after stepping out of the blackhawk chopper.
At the inaugural ceremony tonight, the citizens elected to the state-level positions were sworn in by Ann Walsh-Bradley, a justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Governor Walker, seen here, spoke about being a leader in tomorrw's society and being the people the rest of the country will look up to in times of need and great leadership.
