Badger Boys State online orientation
The Badger Boys State counselors and staff members strive to conduct a successful session each year. A very important part of achieving this goal is working with sponsors, guidance counselors, parents/guardians and Wisconsin’s young men to ensure that the selection and orientation process is effective. This portion of our site is dedicated to explaining what someone attending our program should expect to experience if chosen to attend.
You are encouraged to review and utilize each of the following orientation resources so that you have a good understanding of our program. If you don’t find an answer you are looking for or need clarification on anything, please contact us, and someone will respond back as soon as s/he can.
Our online, self-paced orientation presentation is similar to what a live orientation presents and provides general information and answers to many of the common questions about the program. This can be the quickest way to see general orientation information. A list of orientations can be found on the live orientation page.
Badger Boys State citizen testimonials
Participants of Badger Boys State are called citizens because, for a week in June, they are “citizens” of the 51st state, which we create on the campus of Ripon College.
A number of citizens from 2009 spoke on camera at the end of their session and talked about how their week went for and offering advice for future citizens. These testimonials are in their own words, unedited and sincere reflections of their experience. They are posted on our Video Testimonials page.
We felt some chosen to attend Badger Boys State may be unsure of what to expect and if they should attend. We hope that hearing from past citizens will provide a credible source of opinion on the program.
